If you want to take a solitary ride underneath deep blue sky and dark clouds, Tajpur is the place for you. It is a place where you can unite with the merry waves of the sea while walking on the vast shore covered with sand. Now, you may ask why I would want to take a solitary ride. The thing is this place is usually not that overcrowded with people like most other tourist destinations. You are compelled to surrender yourself to the call of the blue abyss through the gap of the Keya and Eucalyptus tree. You can take a bath in the sea. We usually don’t see the harsh and arrogant waves coming back at you; the water barely touches your ankles. The best time to take a bath is when the sea water rises in the tide.
You can see the fishing boats lined up on the beach with oyster belts are painted in watercolour. You can buy lunch or evening tea with sea food like hilsa, crab, shrimp, pomfret by buying from fishermen or ordering at the hotel.
The estuary of Jalda River is between Mandarmani and Tajpur. You can go to the other side by boat. It’s a very short distance from Tajpur to Chandpur. You can sit on the bank and smell the salt of the sea. Splashes of water are yet refreshment for the eyes. When it rains on a rainy day, when the rain suddenly stops, when the sea rises or when it goes to the full moon, you can walk along the beach singing songs to yourself.
