Boguran: The most secluded beach in West Bengal

Those who like solitude, those who like to walk alone and to talk to themselves, by a beach near a calm sea, want to bathe in the sea while playing with the red crabs. The ideal destination for them is Zhao in Kanthi subdivision of East Midnapore, the secluded beach “Boguran” surrounded by Sonajhuri forest.

In fact, it is a village for fishermen where red crabs play across a quiet, secluded beach. Numerous oysters and colorful googlies are scattered along the beach. Fishing boats and trawlers stand like a picture. The sea waves are not arrogant or big but are rather calm. The sea is covered with cool salty air.

It is very safe to bathe here. It is basically a village filled with fishermen who go fishing in the middle of the sea with a trawler all year round. Junput is 4 km away from Boguran on the left and Bhandara canal is 2 km on the right. If you go across the canal by boat, you will come across the Kanthi canal that is called the solar beach. If you go farther west, you will find the Pichabani River which you will see all day long and you will not know where it will go. You can rent a Toto or an auto from Bogra to go to the fishing port of Junput and Bankiput. The wide borders of the sea will calm your mind and soul.

You can also see the Kapalakundla temple in Dariapur, which was constructed in the memory of the literary emperor Bankimchandra. This temple, which is famous for its long history, has been shown in literature as well as in films. But now it has been renovated. After that you can see the Dariapur Light House and Petua Ghat fishing port on the banks of Hijri River.

This secluded beach is not known to many tourists, so you can make it your own. On a full moon night, you can get lost while walking along the sandy beach to an unknown destination.

How to go?
From Howrah you can take Tamralipta Express, Kandari Express, (Saturday) AC Super Fast Express to Kanthi Station.
There is also a bus from Dharmatala to Kanthi Central Bus Terminal. From there you can reserve car and auto to come to Boguran.
